From 6 to 8 March 2014 ago, the Research Committee of the School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML) has organized a Workshop on Research Proposal Generation at Copthorne Orchid Hotel, Penang. The main objective of the workshop is to increase the number of applications for research grants at the university level, particularly national and international. The workshop was attended by 22 participants consisting of the staff who recently graduated with PhD, staff who are waiting for the viva and tutors who will continue their studies at the PhD level in this year.
The Dean of STML, Assoc. Prof Dr Zulkifli Mohamed Udin, in his opening speech he praised the efforts made by the STML Research Committee in organizing this workshop successfully. According to him, the workshop able to expose academic staff related STML provision of research grants strategy that is more effective and to increase the availability of research grants applied mainly from international funds. Chairman of the STML Research Committee, Dr Faizatul Akmar Abdul Nifa also hope that this workshop will provide essential information on research grant applications, especially to the academic staff with less experience in the production of research proposals through their direct involvement through the guidance of the RIMC facilitator.
Also present was a Visiting Professor STML, Professor Dr Dermaan Wibisono and 2 Social Research Officers, En.Abdul Rais and Mr. Mohamad Mokhtar. Nasiruddin Haron of RIMC acting as facilitators at the workshop this time. The workshop was successful in achieving its objectives by generating a total of 16 proposals were prepared specifically for various applications of national and international research grants this year.
